Compensation policies

Flydubai provides compensation and assistance when your travel is disrupted due to cancellations, delays, denied boarding, or baggage issues. Here's what you should expect and how to claim:

✈️ Flight Cancellations, Denied Boarding & Long Delays

  • If you're denied boarding or your flight is cancelled (with less than 14 days notice) or delayed by ≥ 5 hours, you can choose:
    • A full refund (including taxes & fees) within 21 days, or
    • Re-routing to your final destination at the earliest opportunity under comparable conditions, or
    • Re-routing at a later date of your choosing (subject to seat availability) 
  • Re-routing within ±10 days has no rebooking fee, but fare difference may apply if outside this window. 
  • Compensation is paid within 45 days via bank transfer or as agreed. 

๐Ÿ’ถ EU & UK Rights (EU261/UK261)

For flights departing from the EU or UK (including UK261), you may be entitled to cash compensation up to €600 (or £520), depending on distance and length of delay/cancellation.

Flydubai passengers are entitled to care and assistance in case of delays or baggage issues. For delays of 2 hours or more, Flydubai will provide meals, refreshments, and two communication items (such as calls or emails). If the delay reaches 5 hours or more, you may opt for reimbursement or re-routing, including a return flight if your journey involves connecting travel. For baggage issues, delayed baggage is compensated up to USD 50 per day for essential items for a maximum of 3 days (excluding residents at the arrival destination). Damaged baggage will be repaired or replaced at Flydubai’s discretion. To make a claim, submit a written request through Flydubai’s Customer Services form. Supporting documents such as boarding passes or receipts may be required. Compensation is typically processed within 21 to 45 days, depending on the nature of the claim.

What's the difference between a refund and compensation?

A refund returns your money or voucher for the fare and taxes; compensation is an additional payment if you're eligible under delay laws.

Are ‘extraordinary circumstances’ excluded?

Yes—flights disrupted by factors beyond Flydubai’s control (e.g., weather, ATC strikes) are exempt from compensation but not from care.
