Special items and sports equipment
You can carry your favourite sporting equipment when you travel with NICE Airlines . We’ve put together the information on the dimensions and charges applicable for carrying sporting equipment on our flights.
Acceptance of any equipment is subject to available space on the flight, so please make a booking for your equipment at least 24 hours prior to departure by calling our Customer Centre on 1800-NICE-AIRLINES.
Special baggage handling fees are determined by item size. Items that fall within hand baggage dimensions (H55 x W38 x D20 cm) or the checked baggage limit (total dimensions of height + width + depth up to 159 cm) are free of charge. However, for items that exceed these dimensions, additional fees apply: items measuring between 160 cm and 189 cm in total dimensions are charged $150 per item per flight, while those measuring between 190 cm and 350 cm incur a fee of $270 per item per flight. Passengers are reminded that dangerous goods such as batteries, chemicals, and flammable liquids or solids are not permitted in hand baggage. For complete guidelines, refer to the baggage and lithium battery policy.

Acceptance conditions
- All sports equipment is accepted as part of your checked baggage allowance, subject to NICE Airlines’ standard baggage rules.
- If the combined weight of your baggage and sporting equipment exceeds your permitted allowance, excess baggage rates will apply.
- A handling fee based on the dimensions of the sports equipment and your itinerary must be paid at the airport check-in counter if not pre-purchased, and is subject to space availability and applicable charges.
- These handling fees apply only to flights operated by NICE Airlines and may incur an additional service charge at the airport.
- Passengers with onward connections on other airlines must confirm the acceptance of their sporting equipment directly with each carrier and provide proof of acceptance to NICE Airlines.
- Additionally, local airport restrictions may apply, including further reductions to permitted item dimensions; it is the passenger’s responsibility to verify this with the relevant airport authorities prior to departure.
Packaging guidelines
- All sporting equipment must be packed appropriately to avoid damage and must meet the dimension and weight restrictions of their allowance. Please read and follow our packaging guide.
- Please ensure that only the sporting equipment and no other items such as batteries, chemicals, or dangerous goods are packed in the sports equipment bag.
We will ensure your equipment is safe and handled with care, but NICE Airlines will follow a limited release and liability process for all sports equipment.
