Pre-Existing Medical Conditions

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions

Coverage Options

Purchasing Coverage:

  • Eligibility: You can purchase Traveller Protection Plus even if you have pre-existing medical or physical conditions.
  • Add-On Benefit: To be covered for your pre-existing conditions, you must select the Pre-Existing Medical Condition Benefit add-on during the application process. An additional premium is required for this benefit.
  • Policy Limitations: This benefit is applicable for Single Trip policies of up to 30 days duration and for customers up to the age of 75.

Policy Plans and Add-On:

  • The Pre-Existing Medical Condition Benefit must match the plan selected (e.g., if you choose a Platinum Plan, the add-on will also be Platinum).

Flexibility:

  • You can add the Pre-Existing Medical Condition Benefit for any insured persons on your policy at an additional premium.

Additional Considerations:

  • Adding to Existing Policy: You can add this benefit to an existing Traveller Protection Plus policy as long as your request is made before your trip commences. Contact NICECover Customer Service for assistance.

  • No Medical Records Needed: You do not need to submit medical records to add this benefit.

Claims and Limitations:

  • Trip Cancellation and Disruption: If covered under the Pre-Existing Medical Condition Benefit, the policy provides cover for Journey Cancellation and Travel Disruption for all affected insured persons on the policy, with a 50% co-payment applicable for the insured person with the pre-existing medical condition.
  • No Coverage Without Add-On: If you did not add the Pre-Existing Medical Condition Benefit, you will not be covered for situations arising from pre-existing conditions, such as Journey Cancellation or Travel Disruption.\

Traveller Protection Plus offers comprehensive travel insurance coverage with specific provisions for pre-existing medical conditions through an add-on benefit. Ensure you select this add-on during the application process to get coverage for your pre-existing conditions, subject to certain limitations and exclusions.
