Special items and sports equipment
You can carry your favourite sporting equipment when you travel with NICE Airlines. We've put together the information on the dimensions and charges applicable for carrying sporting equipment on our flights.
Acceptance of any equipment is subject to available space on the flight, so please make a booking for your equipment at least 24 hours prior to departure by calling our Customer Centre on 1800-NICE-AIRLINES.
Special baggage handling fees
- Standard-sized sports equipment with total dimensions up to 159 cm (L + W + H) is not subject to a handling fee, though standard weight allowances apply and excess weight charges may be incurred.
- For oversized sports equipment:
- Dimensions 160–189 cm: Fee per item per flight is $150
- Dimensions 190–350 cm: Fee per item per flight is $270

Acceptance conditions
- All sports equipment counts toward your total baggage allowance
- Weight: If your combined baggage and equipment exceeds your weight allowance, excess baggage rates apply
- Size: Handling fees (listed above) apply only to oversized items (160 cm+)
- Payment: Fees can be pre-purchased or paid at check-in (subject to availability)
- Airport charges: Additional service charges may apply for airport counter payment
- Partner airlines: Confirm acceptance with connecting carriers and provide proof to NICE Airlines
- Local restrictions: Check with relevant airports for any additional dimension restriction
Packaging guidelines
- Pack all sporting equipment appropriately to prevent damage
- Ensure equipment meets dimension and weight restrictions
- Pack only sporting equipment in sports bags—no batteries, chemicals, or dangerous goods

We will ensure your equipment is safe and handled with care, but NICE Airlines follows a limited release and liability process for all sports equipment.
